FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WINDSOR, ON - September 12th 2007 – Windsor Ontario’s historical arena has revitalized itself by adopting a modern technology.
For the last season hosting the Windsor Spitfires , Windsor Arena will be home to a pair of 10x7 foot LED screens powered by firmCHANNEL™ Technology. Through the use of firmCHANNEL™, event staff will be capable of broadcasting media on demand to the audience below, sparking the desired reaction. The 4,400 seat arena will now have the feel of a professional level stadium as popular songs and video clips are broadcast in high definition with tremendous volume to energize the players and crowd in the compact arena.
The media fully integrates with the house audio-visual equipment to provide a fluid transition. The content management and entertainment system is currently operated by the Intense Media and Wide Eye Media teams through a collaborative effort. “The crowd response has been tremendous” claims Domenic Panetta of Wide Eye Media. “The players feed off of the energy provided by the crowd and firmCHANNEL™ provides the spark that gets them off their seats”.
The Digital Signage hardware and software solution is a product of local firm, eliquidMEDIA International Inc who is making waves in their industry through the innovative firmCHANNEL™ systems. The unique user interface allows event staff to create and edit professional looking media in seconds and publish to the screens at game pace. Content is reactionary to events in the game and focused on maintaining audience interest during stoppages. Aside from entertainment value, Windsor arena management has leveraged the systems as a profit center by attracting local and national advertisers to invest in the broadcast medium. The additional revenue has been a tremendous benefit to the arena management as costs of maintaining the building have steadily increased and as the team makes the transition to its new home in 2009.
Looking to the future, the Intense Media and Wide Eye Media groups hope to expand their network of digital signs throughout Southwestern Ontario as well as into further arena developments. For more information, visit www.WideEyeHD.com and www.IntenseMedia.tv.
